It is a very large market with lots of aisles and tons of little vendor shops. Be sure to browse around before buying anything as a lot of vendors offer similar items.

Bargaining is a given, If you find something you like, make sure to note what shop it was and where that shop is located, as it is easy to get confused with so many aisles.

Here you can find paintings, masks, jewelry and calabash which is what the masai use to store drinks. Also You can see some really cool Tshirts as well. Take your time walk around and then bargain your way through.

3- Cultural Heritage Centre
It is a home of all forms of art from paintings, sculptures, basketry and textiles. For shoppers seeking a curated experience of the best in African artifacts, fine arts, a restaurant, entertainment and gemstones, specifically Tanzanite, this place has it all.

The cultural heritage centre gives one a chance to explore a wide range of craft work, masks, which show an insight into African culture. African communities are well-known for their craft work and masks are part of their specialty.

The Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre is worth a visit if your safari starts from Arusha and you have a few hours to visit. It has a large shopping area of locally made African items next to the large building with sculptures, artwork, textiles and carvings.

4- Mount Meru
It is the second highest mountain in Tanzania just after Mount Kilimanjaro. It is one of the best place in the region to visit either for climbing or just to view the beautiful landscape.

Mount Meru is also a fun hike by itself, suitable for people with a few days on their holiday calendar, and still wishing to do mountain climbing.

One can hike Mount Meru as a day tour or as a full 3 or 4 days hike. The trails offer amazing views of rivers and waterfalls for a relaxing hike.

5- Old Boma Museum
It is a very nice Museum that takes you through various sections like Natural history, flora & fauna history and many more. There is a small artist corner at the back of the museum where you could buy local handicrafts.

It is a place where you can find Baruta, the 160 year old giant tortoise. You can spent around 3 hours or more at the museum. You will be guided by the knowledgeable, experienced and educated staff in the museum.

6- Ngurdoto Crater
Located in Arusha National Park and off limits to humans, this verdant crater’s mossy, swampy habitat provides a natural sanctuary for elephants, buffalo and Colobus monkeys.

It is a nice place to visit with your family where they can get access to view a beautiful landscape, nature and wild animals.

7- Mount Meru Waterfall
You can hike all the way from Arusha to the the waterfall, from the entrance it’s a beautiful jungle walk to the waterfalls. You probably can find the waterfalls by yourself but taking a Guide is ideal for good experiences and security.

The entrance fees isn’t high and don’t forget to take your sandals with you because you have to cross the river a couple of times before reaching to the waterfall.

The museum is located in the center of Arusha where you can visit The Tanzanite Experience and learn about the history, mystery and rarity of this precious gemstone, unique to Tanzania.

Through a series of interactive tours and visual exhibitions, including a replica of a Tanzanite mine shaft, visitors discover how tanzanite was created, named, mined, cut, polished and graded.

9- Lake Duluti
If you feel like walking and canoeing in unspoilt nature, we can highly recommend a trip to Lake Duluti. This small but deep crater lake captivated me not only by its tranquility but also by its surrounding forests full of secrets and surprises.

There is a knowledgeable guides who are experienced with plants, birds, reptiles, They could name them and give any interesting information.

By imitating the sounds of animals they even lured them out from their hidden spaces and you could watch monkeys, rare birds and more.

Just in time to watch a golden sunset, You can have a boat tour and while gliding along magical vegetation and listening to the sounds of nature.

10- Ol Doinyo Lengai
It is an amazing and impressive experience, Make sure you are on top when its still dark to witness the red lava. The 360 view is astonishing, even more during sunrise. From here you can see mount Kilimanjaro and Meru from the top.

The environment is very nice, the lake is beautiful with flamingos and we made a nice hike to the waterfall. In the night we started the hike up the volcano.

You can start in the morning to climb the mountain which is continuously very steep going up almost in a straight line. There are a lot of rocks on the way.
