Wits Bus Service Is the Inter Campus Bus transportation for Wits registered students between the various Wits campuses and residences.
Some buses in the fleet have wheelchair access. Bus timetables are displayed at the major bus stops, and on campus and residence notice boards.
Transport is available during the weekdays and Weekend.
A weekend bus service is available to transport ONLY Wits registered students residing in Residences that are managed by Wits Campus Housing and Residence Life (CHRL) to Rosebank.
No person will be allowed to use the Wits bus without producing their valid Wits Student Card. The bus will not be permitted to depart if the 50% capacity regulation has been breached.

Wits Bus Company own a variety of buses for Inter campus transportation. Most of them are locally made by South African fabricators.
These buses has 2 by 3 seating arrangment and has no Air conditioner. Only seated students are allowed to move with these buses between various campus.
Wits Bus offer Inter Campus Student transport service on daily basis. Transportation is provided by the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg for:
Wits registered students that require transportation from Wits Main Campus to the Wits Education Campus, Wits Health Science Campus and Wits Management Campus for academic activities.
Wits registered students residing in Wits residences that are managed by Wits Campus Housing and Residence Life (CHRL) to the various Wits campuses and residences.
Wits Bus also offer transport to Wits Health Science students are transported weekdays to the following Teaching Hospitals for academic activities: Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Helen Joseph Hospital, Rahima Moosa Mother & Child Hospital, Oliver Tambo Memorial Hospital, Bertha Gxowa Hospital, Union Hospital, Netcare Rehab, Milpark Hospital, J Dumani Clinic, Thelle Mogoerane Hospital and Frances Vorwerg School.
N.B. No standing of passengers and smoking is allowed on the Wits bus.
The Operating Licence in conjunction with the Public Road Transport Permit issued by the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport Johannesburg Office for the bus routes of the Wits Inter Campus Bus Service do not permit standing passengers i.e. the number of passengers on the bus cannot exceed the number of seats in the bus.

06:30 to 17:00 – every 15 – 20 minutes, “drop & go” (Normal Circuit)

06:30 to 18:00 – every 15 – 20 minutes, “drop & go” (Reverse Circuit)
18:30 to 23:30 “reverse” circuit on the half hour
18:00 – 00:00 – normal circuit on the hour
The last reverse circuit bus departs AMIC Deck at 23:30
The last normal circuit bus departs AMIC Deck at 00:00
