Interstate Bus Lines was founded in 1975 by commuter bus pioneers, Abel Erasmus and Fred Kinnear. The name shorten to IBL, is the largest passenger bus operation in the Free State province.

They have deployed 253 buses with routes running between Bloemfontein and outlying rural areas including Thaba ‘Nchu, Botshabelo, Brandfort and Soutpan.

They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Although their normal office hours are from 07:30 – 16:00, Mondays to Thursdays and 07:00 – 15:00 on Fridays. Interstate Bus Lines have a 24/7 control room with a friendly company representative that can assist you.
